Stability control does only a little intervention

The Puma ST from Ford is the company’s first SUV for the European market, and it is a nice addition to its lineup. The vehicle is available for order at a price starting from £28,485.

The power output of the vehicle is 196bhp and it has a 1.5-liter turbo engine, same as in the Fiesta ST. The torque has been significantly increased, from 212lb ft to 234lb ft, so it helps in the linear acceleration. The SUV can reach 61mph in 6.6sec, just like the Fiesta ST.

The vehicle offers Eco, Normal, and Sport driving modes, similar to the standard Puma. There are no slippery and trail functions and they have been replaced by a hardcore Track mode.

In the hardcore Track mode, the traction control is disabled, the stability control does only a little intervention and all systems are used to provide the best driving experience and achieve the fastest possible lap times. Customers can also a performance pack, that’s optional and costs £948. The pack includes a launch control function that enhances response and has its own graphic display.

If you are looking for an elegant SUV that’s good on performance too, then look no further. The vehicle has got a cheesy, unique design and though it’s not for everyone, many customers would like it. Its interior deserves appreciation too, if you have a special knack for the vehicles’ interiors, you would love this car.

Though the interior is quite similar to the standard Puma, there are certain differences that make it better. There are ST-branded Recaro sports seats in the front, a flat-bottomed steering wheel, bespoke treadplates, and an ST gearknob. So, that’s a very nice interior and certainly provides all the basic accessories. The company has high expectations from the vehicle, but only time would tell if it would meet those expectations.
